The $215 million redevelopment and construction program transformed an existing office into the new 731,000 s.f. headquarters for Novo Nordisk Inc. The project consisted of a complete façade and infrastructure renovation with new interior construction. The existing building was stripped to its skeletal frame, and its façade, roof, interiors and MEP systems were replaced. Significant challenges of the project included integrating the new and existing building system elements.
Base Design Group was brought onto the team to provide specialty structural engineering services for the exterior cold-formed steel façade framing. Substantial collaboration throughout the project between primary design teams and specialty design teams took the vision for the new façade from the design development stage through the design assist process and ultimately to the successful installation and completion of the new façade.
