The Range House project consists of a new, two story building of approximately 6,000 s.f. with a wrap-around porch that will serve as the clubhouse for the driving range at Cape Arundel Golf Club. The facility provides a gathering place for community golfers as well as house restroom facilities, offices for PGA professional and staff, conference room and storage areas.
The structural system of the building consist of wood bearing walls and posts on concrete footings and frost walls supporting wood floor framing and roof rafters. Lateral loads (wind and seismic forces) in both directions are resisted by the use of wood shear walls. The grade floor is constructed as a concrete slab-on-ground.
