The project consists of a new 106,500 s.f. athletic facility featuring a 900 seat ice-hockey rink, a 1,200 seat basketball court, a fitness center, multipurpose indoor practice courts, classroom and laboratory spaces. The practice courts may also be used for performances and other university events with a combined seating of 3,000. The primary building is constructed of a pre-engineered steel building system supported on concrete foundation walls and a grade level slab-on-ground. The entry vestibules were constructed of bar joists and metal deck on CMU bearing walls with concrete foundation walls.

Base Design Group was retained to provide structural engineering for the CMU entry vestibules as well as for the elevated concrete slab reinforcing of the primary structure. Base Design Group was also retained to provide specialty structural engineering for the cold-formed steel exterior enclosure assembly systems.
