This new ground-up, 28-unit senior living development project consists of a three-story structure with a full basement level totaling approximately 28,560 sq. ft. The structural system utilizes wood floor and roof joist framing supported on wood bearing walls. Due to the large open spaces in the basement area, the ground level framing over the basement area is constructed with structural steel beams, girders and columns support the wood-framed structure above. Lateral loads (wind and seismic forces) in both directions are resisted by the use of wood framed shear walls.
